Our Qonnections 2017 Recap
Qonnections 2017 has come and gone, and the Solve team had a great time at the Gaylord Palms in Orlando meeting both Users and Partners! Thanks to everyone who stopped by to talk with us!
Our booth generated quite a “buzz” this year, as we showcased our SUDS (Solve’s Useful Drink Selector) application in both the classic Qlik Sense interface and a custom web page. Users were very interested in our customized Qomment and Chat Engine, new Qlik GeoAnalytics offering, and extensions from our partners at Narrative Science (www.narrativescience.com).
The Executive team at Qlik spent time speaking with the audience on the acquisition by Thoma Bravo, focusing on the amount of resources they are now pouring into R&D (great news!) and the commitment to an aggressive release cadence for the full product suite (from 3 to 5 per year!). Based on what we heard during the Qlik 2020 Roadmap and Vision address and some of the quick product demonstrations done during these sessions, we’re very excited to see what the future holds!
One of the coolest product demos we saw was a new chat bot feature that allowed one of the R&D team members to showcase the power of the platform. He and another Qlik team member showcased the concept of conversational analytics, sharing Qlik objects within the chat and commenting on the analysis. This capability is similar in nature to an extension we’ve been developing to allow the same type of interactivity with Qlik!
For the upcoming release of Qlik Sense, in June, we’d like to highlight a couple of our favorite features that we’re excited to share with our clients:
- Convert your QlikView apps into Qlik Sense apps. A simple drag and drop converts your work into Qlik Sense.
- Color Intelligence and new data viz. Create Histograms, Boxplots, and Treemaps and administer colors consistently through your entire application.
- Qlik Sense iOS mobile application allows offline dashboard access. Now users don’t have to be tethered to mobile or internet to access their Qlik applications.
- Qlik GeoAnalytics. The newest offering from Qlik is an easy to use spatial analysis tool. Quickly create great looking maps without using any 3rd party location tools. Also, you can integrate Qlik with AutoCAD to map indoor locations as well.
Stay tuned to the blog as we continue to update you on all things Qlik. In addition to the new features due in June, follow us for the upcoming Qlik features showcased at Qonnections 2017, such as the Hybrid Cloud platform, and Augmented Intelligence (AI), which Gartner calls “smart data discovery”.
